5 Sustainable Swaps to Celebrate Earth Day

Earth day is April 22nd, 2023! There are many ways to celebrate this beautiful planet we call home and reduce our waste on a daily basis.

REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE

The biggest way to decrease our waste and impact on the planet is by REDUCING the amount of single use items we purchase. Many items like dryer sheets, plastic water bottles, and plastic bath luffas take hundreds of years to decompose and contain harmful chemicals that can leech into our soil and water systems.

Instead, opt for items you can REUSE like travel water bottles, reusable grocery bags, and wool dryer balls. Many common items have packaging that can be repurposed and given new life with a little creativity. Upcycle items into a work of art or reuse shipping materials to send a package to a friend.

If you must use single-use items, RECYCLE as many as you can. Glass and metal are infinitely recyclable, whereas plastic can only be recycled twice, so opt for aluminum and metal items over plastic as often as possible.
